Extracurricular
In addition to its focus on STEM education and college preparation, one of the things that makes all Sonoran Schools unique is their commitment to providing a wide variety of enrichment and extracurricular opportunities for students, during the school day, after the school day, and even on the weekends!
Studies have proven that students who participate in extracurriculars have improved academic performance and a more positive attitude towards school. Yet, some of the most valuable benefits of participating in extracurriculars reach far beyond a student’s academic experience.
Learn – Explore – Grow Take Risks – Relax – Make Friends!
Learn how to work as a team or how to take responsibility; explore interests and try new things; or grow your perspectives – extracurriculars are a great way to experience diversity, whether through meeting students from other classes/grades or by learning about another country.
The relaxed environment provides a wonderful opportunity to take risks and reap the reward of accomplishment and increased self-esteem. The shared enjoyment of an extracurricular activity is also one of the best and easiest ways to make friends!
